The Viña de Mateo Tinto comes from vineyards located at 650 meters above sea level in the "Finca La Serrata", in Villena, Alicante. These vines grow in sandy loam and calcareous soils, which gives the wine a characteristic minerality. The varieties Monastrell (85%) and Merlot (15%) are carefully harvested manually, guaranteeing the highest quality of the grapes. After harvesting, the grapes are fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks, incorporating approximately 20% cluster grapes to add complexity. Aging for 10 months in new French Allier oak barrels gives the wine an elegant and well-integrated structure.
